Probably ended up being one of my favourite day of the summer. I've always wanted to do a big adventure in the bugs in a day so Frederica and I did a day trip leaving Canmore from about 4am and made the 3 hr bumpy drive into the bugaboos to attempt the Pigeon Spire NE ridge in a day. We managed to leave the parking lot pretty quickly and it felt incredible going up the Bugaboos approach trail with only lightweight day packs rather than the usual heavy overnight packs.

This day really does include it all, from a nice, well plodded trail on the way up. A short snow climb going up the BS col, and a fun but engaging 5.4 ridge climb going up to Pigeon spire! Then it was a caffeine fuelled drive back to Canmore before it got too dark!
